My best guess is that this is a Rio Grande leopard frog (Lithobates berlandieri), a non-native but widely distributed frog found in the artificial waterways of central Arizona. This fellow inhabits a pond at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, along with some of the largest American bullfrogs I’ve ever seen.
