Still water, at the Deep Creek Locks in Chesapeake, Virginia. 

The sweltering heat here has given way to lingering low pressure that has settled off the coast, bringing with it an abundance of moisture and mosquitoes. According to my garden rain gauge, 7 inches of rain fell overnight (18 cm). The patch of lawn where we play badminton was under 3 inches of water this morning (7.5 cm), and the garden is a sodden mess. 

The spillway at the Deep Creek locks was roaring this morning with drainage from the Dismal Swamp, but the water in the basin was glassy smooth, broken only by a minnow that jumped just before this photo was taken.
