DIY: Elezbeth and Eddie. At Double Butte Cemetery, in Tempe, Arizona.

To me these simple headstones are a beautiful expression of affection and remembrance. They are clearly hand made. Letters were drawn in wet concrete, then filled with clay. The “S” in “September” in the marker at left was drawn backward, and in both the number “9″ is a dodgy squiggle. But any crudeness in execution is utterly overwhelmed by the sweetness of intention. Remember them.
