Lézard du Jour: Plateau fence lizard (Sceloporus tristichus), at Tonto National Monument, Gila County, Arizona. I saw these little wisps by the hundreds along the trail yesterday.

This is my three-thousandth post. Here’s a lizzard.
Male plateau fence lizard (Sceloporus tristichus). On the Fat Man’s Loop trail on Mount Elden, in Flagstaff, Arizona.
For those that have followed Fatchance up to this milestone, especially those that joined up back in olden times, Thank you! My first post was in June 2008, which means Fatchance recently passed its six-year mark as well. For some reason the tumblr folks failed to send me a congratulatory cupcake. When I made my first post there were only about 100,000 tumblr users worldwide, and I was one of the oldest people using the platform. I’ve not grown any younger, but the tumblr demographic seems to have done so. I’m not nostalgic for the good old days (of just six years ago!), before the youngsters began migrating from MySpace. They are most welcome, as long as they behave themselves. I do miss those early days though, when there were no business or commercial tumblrs cluttering my dashboard with their sordid corporate spiels. I do love to hate a good ad.
