The coyotes’ scientific name is Canis latrans. Latrans is the Latin word for barking – a refernce to the variety and range of the wild dogs’ vocalizations.

My walk originated at Lost Dutchman State Park, and took me into the Superstition Wilderness Area of Tonto National Forest, in Pinal County, Arizona.
