I’ve added several new items to my Etsy shop, including this scratch art rendering of a reclining flute player, inspired by rock art imagery found near Sedona, Arizona. The figure might represent the trickster Kokopelli, who is usually shown playing a flute, and often appears as a hunchback or with a twin. He is sometimes shown in animal form, or as a man wearing an animal disguise. And because he is a symbol of fertility, he is sometimes depicted with a comically disproportionate phallus, or cavorting in a suggestive way.

This scratch art rendering of a dragonfly is for sale now at my SouthwestScratch Etsy shop. The image is loosely based on a figure on a rock art panel found near my desert home in Phoenix, Arizona. Please click the link to browse more of my petroglyph illustrations.

I have posted new items to my Etsy shop this morning. To my long-time followers, I apologize for the commercial nature of this post, but one must pay the bills. I promise to limit these links to only one per month.

That said, wouldn’t this original scratchboard owl (inspired by an ancient rock art image) make a great Father’s Day gift for some wise old guy in your life? Just a suggestion. Please click through to learn more.
