Free Skeleton to a Good Home

I’m giving away this original skeleton drawing, no strings attached. In fact, there are no sinews or tendons or ligaments of any sort. The drawing’s dimensions are 11 x 7 inches (about 28 x 18 cm), done in burnished colored pencil on vellum-finish Bristol board. I am calling it Durmiendo, Soñando (Sleeping, Dreaming). It is not matted, mounted, or framed.

The giveaway will be by random drawing. To enter, leave a reply to this post saying “Enter Me Please!” I’ll close the drawing pool at 50 entries or noon Tuesday (MST), whichever comes first. U.S. entries only, please. The winner will need to disclose a domestic ship-to address, which will of course be kept confidential; notification will by via the tumblr messaging applet.

Full disclosure: I don’t have access to skeletal remains. I modeled the drawing after an un-credited photo I found on the internet, so I have perpetuated the lack of attribution. Sorry, Nameless Photographer.

MyCoy Tyner died today, age 81. This track exemplifies the mellower side of his timeless piano work. He was joined by Jimmy Garrison (bass) and Albert Heath (drums) on this 1963 recording.

A pair of Gila woodpeckers (Melanerpes uropygialis), have discovered the pleasures of the hummingbird feeder. The hummingbirds are Agitated and Displeased and have Taken Umbrage.
