Differential grasshopper (Melanoplus differentialis), at Tumacácori National Historical Park, Santa Cruz County, Arizona.

We saw grasshoppers in astonishing numbers at Tumacácori. When we walked through the orchard there were little explosions of leaping hoppers with every footfall, and the quince trees were covered with them.
